Welcome to the third grade web page.  We encourage you to attend the Back to School open house and parent conferences to meet and/or talk with your child’s teacher.  Communication between home and school is vital to the success of the students.

Curriculum:

  We have two grading scales in third grade.  Numerical grades are given for spelling, reading, language, math, science, and social studies.  A letter grade scale of  E, S, N, U is used for handwriting, computer, PE, art and music.

 Third grade involves many new skills.  Some of them include:

• Context clues
• Cursive handwriting
• Multiplication facts
• Making change
• Elapsed time
• Government & Citizenship
• Solar system
• Simple machines  
• Responsibility
