6th Grade Classroom Procedures
1.
Moment of Silence: NO talking,
heads down. Be respectful of others
2.
Announcements: Be polite, listen
carefully, and wait until they are over to ask questions.
3.
Sharpening pencils: Do this as soon as you
come into the room, BEFORE class starts.
4.
Instruction time: While teaching is in
progress stay seated, pay attention, and participate. If you
need to go to the restroom, re-sharpen a pencil, or throw something
away, WAIT until the lesson is finished. This is polite and
shows respect to the teacher and your classmates.
5.
Restrooms: If you have to go after the
lesson, only one person at a time may go and you must take the
potty pass. (If an emergency occurs, you may go to the restroom
immediately.) You may only go to the restroom one time per class.
Students will be taken to the restroom as a group before and after
lunch.
6.
Work time: You must complete work for my
class first. Then you may work on something for another teacher, read
an AR book or take an AR test.
ASSERTIVE DISCIPLINE PLAN
We use the assertive discipline plan in
our classrooms. The assertive discipline plan calls for the use of
rules, consequences, and rewards. We would appreciate it if you and
your child would read over the following discipline plan. After you
both have read and discussed the plan, please sign this paper and return
it to school to acknowledge your understanding of the plan.
