 Kindergarten Philosophy Statement

Our kindergarten philosophy at Stone Elementary School is based on personalized instruction provided in a secure, supportive, creative, and stimulating environment.  We are dedicated to the goal of providing programs for total child development where children are exposed to a wide variety of educational materials, field trips, hands-on activities and community-enriched experiences.  We encourage intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and creative growth.  We believe each child should be given an equal opportunity to learn and to succeed to his/her highest potential.  We believe parental involvement is one of the significant reasons that children succeed in school.  Our aim is to provide a strong foundation from which students can grow to become active participants in lifelong learning.

 Kindergarten Goals

By participation in the kindergarten program at Stone Elementary School, the children will:

  1. Develop confidence in themselves and their ability to learn.

  3. Acquire an ability to communicate effectively.
  4. Acquire social skills and abilities that enable them to relate to other children and adults.
  5. Be free to develop to their individual potentials.
