Orchestra

 The Stone String Program meets each Monday after school for 1 hour.  The program is open to Stone students who wish to study beginning violin, viola, cello, or bass.  Students must be in good standing at Stone Elementary and have available to them an instrument of appropriate size and an instruction book - Essential Elements - Book 1 (red).

 Stone has a limited number of instruments available for loan on a first come basis.  Instrument rental or purchase lists are available from Mrs. Kinslow.

 The Children of Crossville Preparatory Orchestra is a division of the Crossville Chamber Orchestra.  The director is Jeanie Kinslow.  The orchestra is comprised of area students of violin, viola, cello and bass who have met audition requirements*.  The Prep Orchestra serves as a training program for the more advanced COCCO.  Students with a basic knowledge of their instrument learn to work closely as a team or "ensemble" and learn musical skills important for more advanced programs.

 COCCO Prep meets every Thursday when school is in session from 3:00-4:45 p.m. in the Music Suite of Stone Elementary.

 There is a  $25 materials fee payable to COCCO, a nonprofit organization.

 * Audition requirement:  Majors Scales C, G, D, A - 1 or 2 octave; a prepared piece and a basic sight-reading example.
